Abiola is a Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist and Director of Oakwater Therapy Consultancy. A graduate of the University of Galway and a PhD candidate in Cognitive Science, he brings over 16 years of experience across diverse clinical settings, establishing a strong reputation for depth of expertise and innovative practice in occupational therapy.

With a distinctive background in Design complementing his clinical specialisms, Abiola integrates therapeutic knowledge with creative problem-solving. His particular interest lies in understanding how sensory and cognitive profiles shape human experience and interactions in diverse ways, and how these insights can be translated into practice. This perspective enables him to design and adapt environments that not only meet functional, sensory, and flow-related needs but also empower individuals to engage more fully and meaningfully in daily life.

His work and research are underpinned by a commitment to enabling; focusing on approaches that support participation, independence, personal sovereignty and wellbeing. Beyond assessment and design, Abiola collaborates closely with the HC21 team to deliver education, training, and strategic support, ensuring that thoughtfully planned spaces and products are implemented effectively and utilised to their full potential. In doing so, this helps create environments that foster therapeutic progress, enhance learning, and enriching quality of life.
